Residenzzentrum tanz+ | Residencies under the association of Tanz & Kunst Königsfelden

Residenzzentrum tanz+ was founded in 2020. An independent vessel with studios and guest house for dance, choreography, music and performing arts under the association of Tanz & Kunst Königsfelden. The founder of the interdisciplinary residency project is choreographer Brigitta Luisa Merki, artistic director of the dance festival Tanz & Kunst Königsfelden. Thanks to the support of various partners and private donations, the year-round residency programme could start in March 2021.

Tanz & Kunst Königsfelden is a cultural institution producing in Baden and founder of the dance platform unique in Switzerland. The institution cultivates the diversity of professional dance in the interaction of different dance styles. In cooperation with the Museum Aargau, Tanz & Kunst Königsfelden has been curated by choreographer and former artistic director Brigitta Luisa Merki since its foundation in 2007. In 2024, Filipe Portugal took over the position as artistic director.

Every two years, renowned international choreographers, visual artists, dancers, musicians and composers of various styles create productions for the unique stage of the monastery church. International productions as well as educational art projects with local children and young people are created alternately every year.
