OPEN CALL FOR RESIDENCIES 2025/2026

The Residenzzentrum tanz+ offers residencies during the following period for the development of artistic projects and productions:
September 10, 2025, to February 28, 2026
Residency duration: minimum of 2 weeks, maximum of 2 months
The residencies are open to professional artists from both Switzerland and abroad working in the fields of dance, choreography, and performing arts. Residencies are individually tailored and include free access to the dance studios, accommodation in the large guesthouse, and a financial contribution toward travel and living expenses.
The Residenzzentrum tanz+ provides ideal conditions for continuous and productive artistic work and is unique in Switzerland as a residency and production venue of this scale and orientation. It is suitable for interdisciplinary projects and large-scale productions and serves as a platform for both established groups and newcomers.
The Residenzzentrum is a place for artistic exchange, offering ample space and ideal working conditions for dance in all its diversity. Additionally, evening or weekend workshops for youth and local dance artists can also be offered.

The residency includes the following services:
- Duration of residencies: from two weeks to two months
- 2 dance studios (130 sqm and 64 sqm) and a lounge with a kitchenette
- Accommodation in our guesthouse (max. 12 people), single rooms, 2 kitchens, 4 bathrooms
- Financial support for living and travel expenses (discussed individually based on the duration of the residency)
- Journal on the Residenzzentrum tanz+ website, newsletter, and content on social media
The Jury
The dossiers of the applicants for the professional projects are curated and awarded by a jury of experts. They consider regional, national and international artists and projects.

- Rosemary Helliwell, Professor and deputy director of the Akademie des Tanzes at the Mannheim State University of Music and Performing Arts, former dancer and choreographer with the Stuttgart Ballet, jury member of the Choreographic Centre Heidelberg
- Hope Muir, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Canada
- Filipe Portugal, Choreographer and formerly a principal dancer and solist with Ballett Zurich, Artistic director of Tanz and Kunst Königsfelden and Residenzzentrum tanz+
